...i recall that ELVIS did not really care too much for this song and i believe its shows in his 'suspicions'....other than that i believe that Elvis has the better voice, but not the version of this song

No doubt about it, Elvis has the better voice, both guys handle the song pretty good, Elvis sounds a little better in the way it done. Terry recorded this song 1st, for Elvis it was the back side of a hit record, known as a fill in song. I believe if Elvis recorded it 1st it may have sounded totally different than as a fill in song.

I had heard that Elvis admired Terry's version. More so than his own. Elvis was not the prima donna to belittle another artists work. The up beat tempo and especially the ladies in the chorus really makes Terry's a classic. Terry tragically died of liver failure at only age 54 in 1996.

Elvis called Tom Jones the voice. Would have loved seeing both Jones and Jay Black live singing the same songs. Would have been incredible.

The scenes featuring Elvis were filmed on the paramount studio sets and also with back projected scenery of Mexico but principal b roll photography was filmed in Mexico to give it a more realistic look.

As far as Donny's death goes, the suicide has always been questionable amongst those who knew him and were around during that time. Even those who were at the hotel where he supposedly 'jumped' brought up conversation of suspicion of others who were present and reported noticeable sounds coming from his hotel room. He was indeed going through challenges in his life and career at that time. But even his recording partner, the great Roberta Flack, had great doubts about the suicide claim and suspected that foul play was involved. The music industry is brutal when it comes to musicians being more of a financial burden and not generating the profits to cover those costs. SEVERAL who were at the hotel at the time came forth and suspected foul play. But nothing ever became of it.

Terry's voice sounds a Little stronger than Elvis.They do sound kind of close at certain parts of suspicion !
